The rear alloy frame badge housing is connected to the frame via two attached bolts, going through holes in the frame canopy to which two 'U' shaped spacer brackets are attached and secured with two x 8mm nuts. Behind each of the two nuts is a star washer.
From the underside, you can just
make out the mounting brackets and nuts. I used penetrating oil to try
to get these loosened. They are extremely difficult to remove from this
type of machine as the bolt thread is quite soft material. Shearing them
is very easy. Even with heat and plenty of penetrating oil, both these
sheared.
Here are the correct fittings in
the correct order and orientation as they are attached. To save your
rear badge surround if this happens, you can cut off the entire thread,
drill and tap the stub and then insert a new threaded stud.
